You will learn how to develop and present a literary or historical figure as a living character. You will need to consider costuming appropriate habits, mannerisms, etc. in order for your audience to believe they are witnessing a visitor from literary and historical fame. You will present a monologue to aquaint your audience with your persona.

Afterwards, the audience will engage you in questions and dialogue about your fame and noteriety. These living history and literary presentations by reknown celebrities from the ancient, Medieval, and Renaissance world will allow students from elementary, middle and secondary schools to particiapte in stepping back in time and watching human progress and thought to unfold.

Your presenation can be requested by teachers at Chaparral High School, the Clark County School District, and to anyone in the world who has teleconferencing and video capability.

You will be part of a group that will collectively take notes on the accomplishments and impact that your character had on his/her time period and prepare a polished presentation of your figure. Each member of the group will take on one of the following roles:


Group Members

The Character: You are comfortable performing in front of people. You have strong voice projection, good facial expression, and can assume the personality of the historical figure selected. Researching, assuming, and becoming the character will be your task.


The F/X Specialist: You love to use the Internet and technology. You are adept at downloading images and animations, using color and backgrounds, and know at least a little about a lot of software. Inputting and ultimately determining the best vehicle software to complete the technological aspects of the projects will be your task.

The Profiler: You understand the need to collaborate and facilitate discussion and consensus on the research information as it is compiled to produce the various projects specified in this Quest. Providing and assembling research information into the various components of this Quest will be your task.

The Reporter: You understand the importance of higher thinking. You realize this project requires team members to analyze information and show creative expression through the written portions of this project. Compiling, drafting, revising, editing, and assembling the necessary textual information for inclusion in all of the components of this project will be your task.
